Mission Statement
To identify and contact individuals within the boundaries of St. Jude's Parish who, because of their unique situation, desire additional companionship above what is provided by their network of family and friends. When a need presents itself, the Good Samaritans are also available to provide assistance to these individuals such as transportation to parish functions, doctor's offices, food stores, etc. This organization also sponsors several social events each year, open to all senior citizens within the community, in which these individuals are especially encouraged to participate. These events include Healing Masses and spring/winter parties and are conducted because St. Jude's wants these individuals to know it cares about their well-being and so our neighbors have opportunities to meet others and broaden their network of friends.

Short Term Goals
(1) Increase the membership of our organization, both in the areas of individuals to serve and also those who volunteer.
(2) Conduct recruitment drives within the parish to spread the news of the services we offer to the community via Healing Masses and social events.

Long Term Goals
(1) Have an ample group of Samaritans readily available to serve the needs of individuals within our community when these needs arise. After maximizing our membership in both areas as mentioned above, it is our hope to communicate news of this organization to all new neighbors entering our community via the outreach captains.
(2) To work together with other parish organizations to maximize the benefits St. Jude's provides its neighbors within the community.
