Agenda Items:

1.  Theology of the Body Lived in Communion of Persons by Father Daniel Rocco: The present program will conclude in June with 35 sessions.  During the summer two DVD’s will be produced for the use of the parish, the school, RCIA and Confirmation classes,  These presentations will be constructed to inform the viewer about the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick.  The format has yet to be decided and they will be put on the web if space permits.  The next part of this program will include a sequence of topics that are found in Confirmation preparation.

2.  Expansion by Father Daniel Rocco:  The architect has the drawings for the demolition of the interior of the convent building.  We are waiting for the sealed copies of demolition to go to Gloucester Township.  All non supporting walls will come down; classrooms and a computer lab will be constructed.  If all goes well, the students will be using the new facilities in September.

3.  An appreciation and  farewell party for the Sisters is scheduled for June 17, 2006 after the 5 p.m. Mass.  All from the parish and the school are welcome to attend.

4.  Liturgy by Ginny Licata:  The parish May Crowning will take place after the 9:30 Mass on May 14th.

The parish Speak-Up will be held on Tuesday, May 16th at 7 p.m. in the church.  Light refreshments will follow in the hall.  The Pentecost Vigil Mass (6/3) will include extra readings and an offertory procession  involving the many ministries of the parish.  Refreshments will be served after the 5 p.m. Mass on June 3rd

5.  Ministry Updates

One Body, One Spirit by Grace Kiermeier:

It was noted that it was difficult to greet the parishioners after a Mass that occurred on a busy feast as many moved quickly to exit the church.  Father Daniel suggested that the members of the ministry wear something to significantly identify them and then they would be able to stand anywhere close to the exits of the church.  It was also suggested that those constructing the calendar be aware of major feasts and not consider those dates.  Church announcements are continually necessary to inform the parishioners.

Junior Youth Group by Donna DeMarco

The young members successfully carried out the Easter Egg Hunt, have constructed gifts for the senior citizens who attend the Good Sam’s Spring Luncheon and are going to bake cookies for the Camden Cathedral Kitchen.

Good Sams by Dick Simpson.

The annual Spring Luncheon for seniors and shut-ins will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006.

Knights of Columbus by Dick Simpson.

The following concerns were addressed:
A suggestion that our RCIA candidates wear a white robe at the Easter Vigil.
Response:  if the RCIA members are to receive baptism, they do wear a robe.

A question about the K of C trailer:
Response: the trailer will be moved only if a gym is to be built on that property.

Please take any questions of that nature directly to Father Rocco.

6.   Parish Picnic by Vince De Luca;  Suggested dates for the next picnic are August 26th (Saturday) or August 27th (Sunday).  Members are to poll the ministries about a preferred date and the picnic will be a topic for the next meeting.

7.   New Business:

            A.  Elections:  Terms are completed for eight members.  Vince will call those members to determine if they will run again.  Vince will set up the ballot and elections will occur on the third weekend of May.

            B.   Nominations for officers were given and that election will occur during the June meeting.

            C.  Parish Directory:  Vince has information from a new company and he will continue to look into the possibility of beginning the process to construct a new parish directory.  Further information will be brought to the June meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m. with a prayer by Father Joseph.

Respectfully submitted,

Ginny Licata
